Officer Dylan Struble Awarded Medal of Valor

Officer Struble receiving the Medal of Valor from Chief Jones

Officer Dylan Struble was awarded the Medal of Valor in a ceremony at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 12th.  The Medal of Valor is a prestigious award and the highest national award bestowed upon a public safety officer recognizing his or her extraordinary acts of heroism and bravery.  It involves exhibiting exceptional courage, extra-ordinary decisiveness, and presence of mind, along with unusual swiftness of action, in an attempt to save or protect human life.

Officer Struble exemplified these characteristics during an incident on February 19th when he immediately engaged a suspect who had a knife and had just seriously injured a Mifflin Township police officer.  Officer Struble was able to quickly subdue him and ultimately take him into custody.  It was his swift actions that saved the officer's life. For Officer Struble's valiant actions we all are thankful and applaud him!
