Hair Joy

Hair Joy owner Phillip Han standing in his shop surrounded by shelves holding hair-care products and wigs.

Phillip Han started working at Hair Joy Beauty Supply in 1998. The business, which his wife’s parents had started in Michigan in 1983 was already successful so he bought it from them in 2010. During its nearly 40 years in business, Han says Hair Joy has built a loyal clientele of African American women and men. He says his customers come from all over Columbus and as far away asEmployees Jin Yoon & Michael Apraku are pictured in front of a wall full of mannequin heads with wigs. Marion, Mansfield and even West Virginia to shop his huge selection of wigs and haircare products. Han says Hair Joy does face a lot of competition in the beauty supply industry but feels the customer service his employees provide really makes the difference. “I have several employees who have been here for 20 years and they can call the customers by their names.”

Hair Joy features a loyalty card program and recently launched a website: www.hairjoyoh.com. Han says you can purchase several items through the website with more items to be offered in the future.
