Commercial Construction Permits

Hand and leg of a person smoothing concrete at a construction site.Effective July 08, 2016 the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations, Board of Building Standards, granted Clinton Township the authority to enforce the Ohio Building Code (OBC). The OBC regulates all construction types and uses except for residential one-, two- and three-family structures.

All fire protection systems and building plans must be submitted to Clinton Township. Plan review and comments are required by both the Building and Fire Code Officials prior to the initiation of any construction. All permits and fees must be paid in full prior to any demolition or construction.

All contractors found working without an approved permit shall be charged two times the permit fee.

So you can plan your job accordingly, please remember plan review can take up to 30 days.
